Babylonstoren Sprankel 2016

A 100% chardonnay sparkling wine from Babylonstoren in South Africa, this vibrant bubbly is made in the Méthode Cap Classique – the traditional French method of the Champagne region – ensuring an fine, elegant mousse. The chardonnay grapes are carefully selected from a variety of different vineyards in the Franschhoek area to ensure a wine that is fruity, crisp and well-balanced, with a soft acidity and beautiful minerality. Delicious popped now or in years to come.

Colour - Straw yellow with a slight greengage tinge 

Alchohol - 12% 

Bouquet - Golden Delicious apple, green lollipop, tropical tones as well as gentle biscuit and brioche flavours from the maturation on the lees.

Taste - Fresh and well-balanced with a very fine mousse and soft acidity to balance the almond skin and passion fruit tones. Delicious lime and grapefruit with beautiful minerality and long finish.

Serve - Sprankel perfectly complements roasted almonds, cheese, fruit, salmon, shellfish and caviar. The smoothness of this sparkling wine also works beautifully with poultry and seafood dishes with light, buttery sauces.
